How to Play Birdie Bonanza

Birdie Bonanza is a game played on any practice putting green.  The game uses a common drill golfers use to practice their short putt skills whereby they putt a group of balls in a circle around a hole and repeat that process. Birdie Bonanza gamifys this drill with a beat the pro function.  The game also allows head-to-head and group games.  The game analyzes your practice data to help you become a better golfer.

  1. Choose any hole on the practice putting green that will provide putts of up to nine feet from all directions.

  2. Establish the cardinal points of your putts per the image below.

  3. On your device, set the putt break and terrain parameters for the three-foot putt circle.  You can set the parameters all at once or at each putt position.

  4. Once the field is established, player one will putt their 4 putts at the three-foot distance and tap the play screen to record the result of their putt.. If playing as a single, they will put all twelve putts in succession.  4 putts at each distance circle.  If playing with two or more players, ALL players will play each distance circle before moving to the next distance, and play will continue in order of card entry.

  5. Playing alone or in a group, an agreement must be made on missed putts.  The circle of friends or gimme circle may be employed for second putts if agreed upon.  If no agreement is reached, then ALL putts must be holed.  If a putt is missed and lands in the gimme/circle of friends range, then it is automatically considered holed on the second putt, and the user is to touch one of the three #2 balls on the outside hole to indicate the direction of the missed first putt.  If not playing a gimme/circle of friends game and ALL putts must be holed, the procedure is the same if the player holes the second putt.  You will indicate the holing by noting which direction the first putt was missed.  If the player misses the second putt, touch the "3" ball to indicate a three-putt, and of course if the third putt is missed, one will touch the "4" ball to indicate a four-putt.  There are no five-putts or worse in the game.

  6. The score on the hole is determined based on the potential starting score for that hole.

SCORING

By selecting the difficulty level, you create a scenario to defeat your virtual opponent.  Each hole will have a potential starting score of eagle, birdie, or par.  This will be indicated by the red lettered circle of E,B, or P to the right of the hole number on the game screen.  To create a realistic scenario, the first six holes of the player's score are preset so that their score will allow them to beat the pro in the 12 putt game.

The beat the pro aspect is a fun function that puts you in the action and brings out your competitive juices!  Good luck beating Jack Nick..., I mean, Auden Bruin.
